Sonny's Christmas Wish List

This weekend me and Sonny will be writing to Santa. He will be telling him how good he has been this year and what presents he would like for Christmas.

So what is on Sonny's list to Santa?

He has started to get into his toy cars a lot more now and pushes them round on the carpet. So he wants a car garage for his toy cars. I looked into so many different types of car garages and I love the Toot Toot garage so this is the one I have chosen.

Obviously he will need some cars to go with the Toot Toot garage so these are on his list also. He has a few cars but no Toot Toot ones yet.

He loves watching in the night garden on TV and gets so excited when it comes on. When I saw them Ninky nonk train I just had to buy it for Sonny as I knew he would love this. I am hoping when he opens this on Christmas day he will understand what it is and which programme it’s from.

Another favourite programme of Sonny's is Tellytubbies. I saw a Tellytubby teddy so I think he would love one of these so this is on his list also.

This is Sonny wish list but I am sure he will be receiving a lot more gifts and will be very spoiled over Christmas.

I will also be showing the gifts I have got him on my YouTube channel which I have still yet to record.

What’s your little ones Santa wish list?

Thanks for reading.

Festival of Lights at Longleat

On Sunday we went along to the Festival of Lights at Longleat. We are so lucky that its only ten minutes down the road and that we live right next door to it.

I managed to get our two adult tickets free with our Tesco Clubcard points and Sonny was free as he is under the age of 3.

We didn’t want to spend all day there as it was a cold day and I wanted Sonny to have a morning nap before we headed over. We only needed to get there early if we wanted to do the safari which we didn’t want to do on this visit.

We arrived at about 2pm and headed to see all the animals. Sonny loved watching the penguins being fed. It was so busy everywhere  it was hard to see the animals and have a nice walk round, so we quickly walked round then headed to find the under 5's park.

Sonny loved the under 5's park especially the trampolines in the floor. He just wanted to bounce with the other children’s playing on them.

We then grabbed a coffee in Costa which took forever because it was also really busy. After this me and Sonny went to the mirror maze. That was funny as Sonny was so confused but loving it at the same time.

When the lights switched on we grabbed a mulled wine (yum) then headed towards the lights. I love mulled wine.

Sonny was really grumpy when we got to the lights and really played up. I don’t think he liked the crowds of people and it was pretty cold as well. I thought he was going to love them but he didn’t show any interest in them.

Me and Darren thought the lights were okay but won’t be rushing back next year to see them. It’s definitely worth going to visit them once to experience them.

Charity at Christmas | My homeless gifts

Charity at Christmas | My homeless gifts
This year I have decided to do more for charity at Christmas. I made a box for the Operation Christmas Child appeal. I made a lovely box up for a boy age 2-4. I made a video all about this over on my YouTube channel. Follow the link below to watch this.
I then found out about boxes you could make up for the homeless in the Bristol area and found out my work place was getting involved with delivering the boxes. I loved getting involved with this and started my box straight away.
I made a box for a homeless lady. Here is a list of what was inside my box
  • Pastel Blue bobble hat
  • Cosy Christmas socks
  • Americano coffee
  • Box of tomato cup soups
  • 4 Bars of chocolate
  • Pot noodle
  • Toothbrushes
  • Toothpaste
  • Shower cream
I also added a little note to say Merry Christmas signing it from all the family.
I hope that the lady who gets my box really enjoys receiving it and loves everything inside.
I will defiantly be involved in the Christmas shoe box appeals again next year. It’s such a great way to give to people who don’t get Christmas presents.

Weekend Tot Style #2 I'M COOL

Weekend Tot Style #2 I'M COOL

How cute is this boy dressed all in his new Zara clothing. His shoes are from Matalan and the jumper and leggings are from Zara boys. I love Zara clothing there are reasonably prices and such good quality.
We went out to the park. He wore his Primark body warmer and hat.
I love dressing Sonny in his cool clothes. I thought dressing a boy would be so boring. How wrong was I.

Halloween Sensory Bottles

Halloween Sensory Bottles

I made Sonny some sensory bottles ready for Halloween.

The first one I made was a spider themed one. I got some plastic spiders from home bargains they are orange and black. I just put these in the bottle with water and some green food colouring.

The second one I made was I just put some Halloween confetti inside it which I got picked up from Tesco's.

Sonny just wants to drink the spider bottle, he thinks it’s a drink and hasn’t understood that it’s to play with.

They still look great and I am happy with the way they have turned out.

They are so easy and cheap to make.

Hope you all have a great Halloween. I think I will be vlogging my Halloween weekend so keep a look out for this.

KidloLand Review and Giveaway (CLOSED)

We were kindly sent the KidloLand app to review and do a giveaway on. Sonny is 16 months so we thought we would try this out and see how he got on. He isn’t into the I-Pad yet as he is still too little.
The app itself I was pretty impressed with. It’s aimed at toddlers and pre-school children for fun and it also teaches them as they have fun.
Here is a list of all the different areas you get on the app

Nursery Rhymes
Stories
Phonics
ABCD Songs
Games
Popping Time
Activities
Magic Words
Create and Play Occupations
Wheels On the Bus
Weathers and Seasons
Dinos
Old Macdonald Songs
Vehicles
Animal Kingdom
Fruit and Vegetables
Row your Boat
Numbers 1-100
Lullabies
Colours and Shapes
Months and Days
Christmas Songs

Sonny loved dancing and watching the nursery rhymes. Anything visual with music he enjoyed. The Wheels on the bus was also one of his favourites as he could dance along to this.
We even took this to the bathroom with us at bath time to make this more fun and have a sing song in the bath.
We watched the stories and had them read to us when we chilled out in the evening with his milk.
He still can’t use a lot of it as he is still too little but we are looking forward to trying out the games once he is able to start using them.

I love the fact it currently has a Halloween section. So there are three Halloween stories on the stories section. They also have Christmas songs on the app ready for the Christmas period which I am really excited to listen and watch with Sonny.
I have made a YouTube video on this app also which you can view on the link below.

You can buy the app from any of the following links below.

I am running a giveaway for three people to win a subscription of the app for 3 months. You can enter on the link below. Good luck.

Weekend Tot Style #1 Autumn Outfit

Long Sleeved Top TU Clothing | Trousers TU Clothing | Hoody TU Clothing | Shoes Primark |

Now autumn is here my favourite season, I thought it would be a great time to join in with the 'Weekend Tot Style'.

I love autumn and when I saw these cute mustard coloured trousers in TU Clothing Sainsbury’s I just had to buy them for Sonny. They have little pictures of aeroplanes on them. The trousers came as a set with the long sleeved top and grey hoody. The long sleeved top has a dog pilot on it. The three piece set is only £12.

His new grey shoes I got him only last week. I think they are so cute. His Clarks shoes are his main shoes which he wears most of the time. I wanted to get him some trendy looking ones he could wear every now and then and for only £2.50 from Primark it doesn’t matter if he doesn’t wear them much.

I just love this outfit and I am now on the lookout for more autumn style clothing for Sonny.

The t-shirt he is wearing in the above photo is from Zara. We love shopping in Zara for boys clothing.

Its Pumpkin Time

We went to go and buy our pumpkins at the weekend. I really wanted to go to a local farm and pick them ourselves but I could not find anywhere local where we could do this.

We found a farm about 15 minutes away where they had pumpkins out on a big trailer all different shapes and sizes so went there to buy some.

There were so many to pick from and it took us a while to select the ones we wanted. Darren picked a very large one and I picked two small ones. They cost us about £5 but I also managed to spend more money in the farm shop on other things.

We are keeping two of the pumpkins ready to carve on Halloween weekend. The other pumpkin I made a Pumpkin and Coconut Loaf Cake. I made a YouTube video for my channel on the recipe, I will link this below.

I managed to find two cute little mini pumpkins/squash in Aldi perfect just for Halloween decoration. These were only 89p each.

Here are also some photos of us buying our pumpkins.

Our Weekend | 8th October 2016

Our Weekend | 8th October 2016

Our weekend was so busy and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to write about it this week.

Saturday we popped to soft play and met one of Sonny’s little friends. Sonny loved it there and was into everything. He did lots of climbing, running and exploring. We even had some lunch there and the food was really good for Sonny so next time we go we will be doing lunch again there. He had scrambled egg on toast.

I took Sonny down the big blue slide which was funny as it was so fast and a little bit scary. I love taking Sonny to soft play as he has so much fun there.

After soft play we popped up to see Darren and his dad as they were doing some garden work so we thought we would pop to see them hard at work. Sonny wore his wellies for the first time and he was very good at walking in them. We didn’t stay long as Sonny was tired and we had to get back for tea time.

Saturday night we stayed in and had naughty hot dogs, wine and cider. We watched X- Factor which I am really enjoying this year.

Sunday we woke up and decided last minute to go swimming. We went to the Bradford On Avon which is lovely for Sonny as they have a small pool for children. We were only in there for 10 minutes when Sonny was sick in the pool and everyone had to get out and they closed the small pool. How embarrassing. I just quickly went to changing room and left. This was so awkward. Sonny was fine I just think he drank too much pool water.

We know of a great place for cooked breakfast in Bradford on Avon called The Lock Inn so we decided to go there for breakfast as the swimming was a fail. Breakfast was really good and we sat outside by the canal watching the boats go by.

When we got home Sonny was so tired. We were all planning on going shopping in Bath but we changed our plans and Sonny and Darren stayed at home while Sonny took a 3 hour nap. I still went shopping in Bath which was so busy and had a massive shop in Primark. I got some lovely clothing for autumn and also popped into LUSH to buy some Halloween and Christmas bath bombs.

When I got home we had a yummy roast dinner then sat and watched X-Factor again.

Sonny is changing so much and learning new things. This weekend he was making me laugh with his twirling around in a circle making himself dizzy and his dance moves to cheesy music I was playing for him.

I hope you all had a great weekend. Did you do anything nice?

Chilli Con Carne Recipe | Slimming World | RECIPE OF THE MONTH

RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Chilli Con Carne Recipe | Slimming World

One of my faviourite meals is a Chilli Con Carne. Such an easy recipe to do and a nice warming one for the autumn.
This can easily be made so that its a syn free meal on Slimming World.

Minced beef (5% fat or less)
1 Onion, chopped
2 Peppers (Any colour), chopped
1 Can red kidney beans, drained
1 Can chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp Tomato puree
300ml beef stock
2 tsp Chilli powder
1 tsp Cumin
1 Garlic clove (I used crushed garlic)
Salt and pepper
Fresh coriander, to garnish

First fry the mince off until its gone brown. If you need to use oil then use the 1 calorie spray. I usually get away with just cooking the mince without oil. Add the onion and garlic and cook for a further 5 mins.

Next add the peppers and fry for another 2-5 mins

Put all the other ingredients into the pan and bring to a boil. Now simmer for about 40 mins stirring occasionally

It really is as simple as this.

Great to serve with rice, jacket potatoes, wedges or even just on its own.

I saved a small amount for Sonny as well and he loved it also.

A Long Weekend Away

Finally some family time which is what we needed. We went away for a long weekend to Cornwall.

I actually booked this through The Sun £9.50 holidays back in January and I book a break every year through this as it’s a bargain. The 3 night break away cost us under £100 for a caravan.

We left Friday morning and it took us about four hours to get down to Newquay which was where we were heading to first. We went to Newquay Blue Reef Aquarium which was on the Newquay beach. I managed to get free tickets for here through my Tesco Clubcard points.

The Aquarium was good and Sonny seemed to enjoy it but he also got very tired near the end. We then had a quick walk along the beach and watched some surfing.

We grabbed some fish and chips and headed to Haven Perran Sands where we were staying.

The caravan was nice, clean and tidy. The site itself was great and had lots going on. We headed to the Go Tots disco and then back to the caravan to chill out.

Saturday we chilled out in the morning had breakfast and Sonny napped. We then headed to Newquay Zoo. No bargains here we had to pay but it was only £24 for both of us.

I think Darren enjoyed the zoo more than Sonny. Sonny also got very tired again near the end so we only walked round once then headed back to the caravan so he could have another nap before the Go Tots disco again. Sonny loved running around on the dance floor and he loved the seaside squad characters.

Sunday was a nice relaxed one and we just went for a little swim at the caravan park and then headed for a carvery roast dinner afterwards. We went along to the Go Tots disco again in the evening and then back to the caravan and chilled out.

We woke up to rain on the Monday morning so we packed up and headed home to get on with the washing and all things mum fun.

We had such a lovely mini break and made some lovely family memories.

We also vlogged the weekend. You can watch this on the below link

New Linky Starting On Monday 'My Weekly Meal Plan'

I currently post my meal plan for most week. Meal Planning is a great way to save money and be prepared for the shopping trip for the week ahead.

I usually come up with a meal plan by getting ideas online and from magazines. Then I will write down any ingredients I need for this meal plan. I think this is a great way to save money as you are more organised with your food shopping and will not be picking up random things.

If you would like to join in with the weekly meal plan please look out for this on Monday 26th November. I am happy for you to use my photo from my blog for the meal plan as long as you make sure you use the linky.

Its a great way for us to join together and give each other ideas for future meal plans.

Look forward to seeing all your meal plans linked.

We have just had out little summer holiday away and now autumn is officially here.
So let’s get autumn ready. Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I feel all cosy and love nights at home on the sofa watching X-Factor waiting for Christmas to arrive. Here are a few things we have to look forward to now autumn is approaching.
Cosy sweaters
Warm drinks
Cold weather

Candles
Scarves and gloves
Pumpkins
Long chilly walks
Movie nights
Leaves changing colour
Crisp air
Halloween
Blankets
Crunchy leaves

This is a photo of Sonny last autumn. How tiny does my little boy look in this photo. Such a cutie.

What things do you look forward to during the autumn months? What’s your favourite season?
