Slow cooker beef stew and dumplings (Easy)

Today I made a beef stew and dumplings meal in the slow cooker and would like to share my recipe with you all as it tasted yummy.

Ingredients
400g Diced beef
1 Red onion
1 Clove garlic
1 Celery stick
3 Carrots
3 small potatoes
500ml Beef stock
2 tbsp tomato puree

Cut and slice the onion, carrots, celery and potato into chunks. Throw all the ingredients on the list above into the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours.

An hour before you are ready to eat the beef stew make your dumplings and add them to the stew.

To make the dumplings you will need
125g (4oz) Self-raising flour
60g  Suet
1 tbsp Dried Parsley

Sift the flour into a a large bowl and stir in the suet and parsley. Then add 100ml of water and stir to make a soft dough. Roll into balls and add to your stew. Allow for them to cook in the stew for about an hour.

There you have it. So easy to make and so tasty for a cold autumns evening meal. We had ours with some homemade cheese and onion bread.

If you have any good slow cooker recipes for the autumn/winter link them below so that I can go and check them out.

Autumn Tag

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
I love coffee and Starbucks is my favourite coffee shop. At the moment I am loving Hazelnut Lattes. I cant wait to see what Christmas coffees come out this year. I am not keen on the Pumpkin Spice lattes so haven't tried that one.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I love gloves as I get really cold hands easily. But I am looking forward to buying some nice big scarves this Autumn so a trip to Primark is on the cards.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
Since having Sonny I have not had the chance to listen to music or keep up to date with what's hot at the moment. I am looking forward to Ellie Gouldings new album which is due out soon, so that will probably be my Autumn album this year.

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
I am currently wearing Down Town Calvin Klein so this will be this years autumnal scent.

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
I bought a really nice candle from Home Bargains the other day which is Apple Cinnamon so I will be buying another one of these and this will be my Autumn scent as its smells like Christmas.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
Cosy nights watching TV with a nice hot drink. Long relaxing baths (not sure I will get many of these this year with Sonny here)
The biggest thing I love about Autumn is the lead up to Christmas.
Oh and my birthday.

7. Favourite makeup look?
I don't really wear much makeup but I plan on getting a deep red/berry colour lipstick for when I go out and about. I am not sure yet whether it will suit me.

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
My First Christmas with Sonny. I have so much planned and I am also planning on doing Vlogmas this year on my YouTube channel. So go check out my channel and subscribe to keep updated. YouTube.com/c/Bexmorts

Toys for a baby

1, Play Gym
Every baby should have a play gym from birth. Sonny at first just led there looking at the toys hanging above him but now he is trying to pull them off and put them in his mouth but he still enjoys laying on the mat at 4 months. He has endless of fun on this.

2, Door Bouncer
This is something we have only just started using. He loves the bouncer as soon as we put him in it. He isn't quite bouncing himself yet but I think he just loves standing up and moving around in it. I sometimes help him to bounce or even swing him on it. Look at his happy face in the photo below.

3,Fisherprice Jumperoo
I actually bought this for Sonny for Christmas as it was half price at Boots at the time. Its the Space saver Jumperoo which is ideal for our small house as its starting to get a bit crowded with all his toys.
The Jumperoo makes tunes, he can jump in it and a few more activities around him.
I had to give it to him early as he is growing so fast, so now I need to get him a new Christmas present. Ideas in the comments below please? He will be six months at Christmas.

These are Sonny's three favourite toys at the moment. They make him happy and put a smile on his face without fail. He is currently four months.

What are your babies favourite toys?
