5 Things my boyfriend has to put up with during pregnancy

1, Painting my toe nails
So this is a little tricky for me as my belly gets in the way. I can no longer reach my feet now. So he has the lovely job of touching my feet and painting my nails for me. He takes this very seriously and makes sure he does a good job. He may need to help with the shaving of the legs soon as this is becoming tricky now I am getting bigger.

2, My mood swings
So one day I can be happy and the other I can be fed up. My mood swings haven't been too bad to be honest but I did cry the other day over him not buying me an Ice Cream haha. They say the hormones kick in more once baby is here. I have warned him of this so he is aware.

3, My early nights
Since finding out about my pregnancy I have had early nights. Most nights I am in bed by 9pm. The first 3 months of pregnancy I was exhausted and couldn't stop sleeping and I am sure this will kick in now I am heading to the end of my pregnancy. I am sure he doesn't mind this as it means he gets the TV and lounge to himself and some peace and quiet. Although its a little lame at the weekends so I try to last longer during the evenings.

4, Me being lame
So I don't go out as much anymore. This is due to the tiredness and also I worry what people will think of me if I am out in a pub while being pregnant. I just like relaxing and sitting at home at the moment which is so unlike me. I must be getting old now I am becoming a mum. So I never feel up for going out so he just goes out with his mates. We occasionally go out but not as much as before.

5, My constant peeing

I feel like I get up every hour during the night just to go for a wee as baby boy keeps pushing on my bladder. This must be distracting his sleep as well as mine. He hasn't mentioned it but just I think he is being nice about it. At the end of the day he snores so just getting my own back.

What annoys your partner about your pregnancy or what does he have to put up with?

Baking Giant Cookies

So this week I have the week off work so thought I would attempt some baking. My plan was to make a Lemon Drizzle Cake but I forgot to buy the icing sugar. So I tried these Giant Cookies instead. This was the first time baking these and I was very happy with the outcome.

I got the recipe from Tanya Burrs book Love Tanya but changed the filling a little bit.

Ingredients I used
200g butter
200g caster sugar
1large egg
325g self raising flour
1 bag of Caramel nibbbles
1 bag of giant dairy milk buttons

Step 1
Pre heat oven to 200c and grease the oven tray with some butter.

Step 2

Whisk together the butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add in the egg and mix this into the mixture.

Step 3
Start adding the flour just a little amount at a time and mix this into the mixture. Your mixture should then be like a dough. I actually mixed it with my hands a little to get it altogether easier.
Step 4
I then cut my mixture into two as I am making 5 caramel ones and 5 giant button ones. With half the mixture I then added nearly the whole bag of caramel buttons into the mixture. I split the dough into 5 balls and but them onto a baking tray making sure they had a lot of room to spread out whilst baking. I then done the same with the other half of the mixture but with the giant buttons. To tell then apart I put a whole caramel button on top of the middle of the cookie.

Step 5
Chuck them into the oven for 10 minutes only and then take them out even if they don't look done. If you leave them longer they will over cook.
Let them cool for about 20 minutes.
Step 6
EAT AND ENJOY

Second Trimester Survival Kit

Second Trimester Survival Kit

Its hard to believe that I am already six months pregnant already. Time is flying by so quickly.
I put a blog post up back in January with my First Trimester Survival Kit so thought I would do the same for my Second Trimester.
So here is my Second Trimester Survival Kit.

1, Pregnancy Pillow
A must have for any pregnant women. Makes sleeping more comfy and this helped me sleep much better at night.
My partner brought me this for Valentines Day and it was the perfect gift at the right time, after I dropped many hints to him. :-)
These pillows can also come in use once the baby has been born as it can be used as a nursing pillow to help feed the baby.

2, Heartburn Tablets
My heartburn comes and goes. I think it all depends on how much and what I eat. Usually it kicks in when I lay in bed ready to go to sleep or during the night.
Once I have taken just one tablet I start to feel better. Most pregnant women suffer from heartburn at this point of pregnancy so have some ready for when it kicks in.

3, Chocolate
This may just be personal to me. During the beginning of the second Trimester I wanted Chocolate everyday. So that was what I had. Either a bar of chocolate or a hot chocolate. Maybe this was my craving. But it has worn off a little now I am in my third Trimester.

4, Maternity Jeans/ Clothing
I still get away with wearing my normal leggings. But have had to change to Maternity dresses, tops and jeans now the bump is getting a lot bigger. I love my jeans the best which are from next and have the elastic waist which goes under the bump. I was lucky and got given a lot of second hand maternity clothing from a couple of friends. This has saved me a lot of money.

5, Relaxing Baths
I love my baths whether I am pregnant or not. But while being pregnant I think its helped me to relax in the evenings and feel all refreshed. I have a bath every night and some nights I will treat myself to a Lush bath bomb or bath salts. This may be something that I might not find easy to do once the baby is here as I wont have as much alone time.

My First Trimester Survival Kit also still applies as I still used all of them throughout the second Trimester. The water and the vitamins are still very important during the whole pregnancy. I use stretch mark cream every day after I get out of the bath and I am still stretch mark free.

I hope you enjoyed reading todays blog post. Please comment and let me know your second and third trimester must haves.

March Favourites

March Favourites

So we are already in April, how did we get there so quickly? Here are my March favourites.

1,You Tube Channel
Katie and Baby I have been addicted to this channel and have watched so many videos but still have many more to get through. She is such a lovely girl and I am learning many things from her early on videos on prepping for a baby and also pregnancy. If you are going through pregnancy I would recommend her channel to you. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFVJU0OMU6n-kgQi-Z6FW4A

2, Pastel colour nail polish
So now we have hit spring and the sun is shinning its now time to ditch all the dark colours and bring some pretty light colours back into our lives. My favourite nail polishes at the moment are
Rimmel 60 seconds 405 Rose Libertine
Rimmel 60 seconds 430 Coralicious
Rimmel 60 seconds 203 Lose Your Lingerie
Rimmel 60 seconds 842 Too Cool Too Tango

3, Origins Face Mask
I don't usually do many face packs but got this one for Christmas so I try to put this on my face weekly while I have my relaxing bath. I only leave it on for about 5 minutes and once washed off my skin feels all soft and refreshed. This one I have been using is called Out of Trouble 10 minute mask to rescue problem skin.

4, Hot Cross Buns
Its getting closer to Easter and I know this is in April. But I have been eating Hot Cross Buns throughout March as they have been available in the shops already. Marks and Spencer's do some Chocolate and Fudge ones and they are amazing. I do love just the normal ones toasted with some butter on. Yummy.

5, The Script
On Monday 9th March I went to see The Script live with my partner down in Bournemouth BIC and the show was amazing. Danny the lead singing came right up to our seats and sang to us which I got very excited about but messed up the photos when trying to take some. This is the third time I have been to see The Script live and I have to say the show gets better every year. I can't wait for the next tour. If you haven't listened to the new album yet you should give it a listen as there are some really good songs on it.
