INSTAGRAM #WEEKLYROUNDUP

Vlogmas has started on YouTube I am finding it a lot of work but its all worth it at the end as I will have the memories of Sonny's first Christmas.
This week we went to the Bath Christmas markets which was nice and we also went for afternoon tea at Bills restaurant.
I also this week went to my work Christmas meal which was nice to go out and enjoy a free meal.
Then I had a go at baking mince pies which actually turned out okay. I will be making more next week and maybe baking other things.
The weekend we went and bought our new Christmas tree as we wanted a bigger one now we have Sonny and we decorated this on Sunday.
That was our week.

We had a busy week this week. We tried out the sensory play room for the first time which Sonny loved.
I started on my Christmas cake and I will be finishing that in December.
And of course it was Halloween week. I decorated the house, we carved pumpkins and I made some delicious roasted pumpkin seeds and Sweet potato and pumpkin soup.

October Favourites

My October Favourites

1, Apple Cinnamon Candle
October was the month I started burning my candles again. I love candles. This one I got from Home Bargains for £2.99 is my favourite at the moment. Its a massive candle and smells like Christmas. The first one I got has nearly all gone so I am off to buy another one this week.

2, Teen Mum 2
I am addicted to Teen Mum 2 and now a new series has started I am addicted once again. So much drama going on with the girls this series. I know most of it is set up but I still enjoy watching it. I have to set it to record though as Darren wont sit and watch it and I like to watch it when Sonny is sleeping.

3, Halloween
I love Halloween and this year I decorated the house and we carved pumpkins. With the left over pumpkin I made roasted pumpkin seeds and Pumpkin soup. We had so many trick or treats that I ran out of sweets.

4, Hazelnut lattes
I always grab a coffee from Costa on the way home from rhyme time on a Thursday morning. I am really loving the Hazelnut lattes. But I am also looking forward to what Christmas drinks they bring out this year. Coffee is amazing when you have a four month old baby.

Sonny's October Favourites

1, Fisherprice Jumperoo
This makes him smile and he loves spending time in this. It plays music and he plays with some parts of it. He hasn't quite got the hang of the jumping part yet though.

2, Baby TV
I like to just put the TV on in the background for Sonny but he loves watching Baby TV on sky. It does start to do my head in after a while but it keeps him entertained. He loves the singing parts and the bright colours on the TV screen.

3, Sensory room

4, Mam Teether
Sonny has started teething and has been for a while now. I found this Mam teether the other day in boots and its like a dummy. Sonny holds it with his hand sometimes. I just think its a good little teether as its small and like a dummy. It keeps him quiet and calm for a little bit. I also like the rings that go in the fridge he loves biting on them when he is in pain.
The link to the Mam Teether is below.

Slow cooker beef stew and dumplings (Easy)

Today I made a beef stew and dumplings meal in the slow cooker and would like to share my recipe with you all as it tasted yummy.

Ingredients
400g Diced beef
1 Red onion
1 Clove garlic
1 Celery stick
3 Carrots
3 small potatoes
500ml Beef stock
2 tbsp tomato puree

Cut and slice the onion, carrots, celery and potato into chunks. Throw all the ingredients on the list above into the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8 hours.

An hour before you are ready to eat the beef stew make your dumplings and add them to the stew.

To make the dumplings you will need
125g (4oz) Self-raising flour
60g  Suet
1 tbsp Dried Parsley

Sift the flour into a a large bowl and stir in the suet and parsley. Then add 100ml of water and stir to make a soft dough. Roll into balls and add to your stew. Allow for them to cook in the stew for about an hour.

There you have it. So easy to make and so tasty for a cold autumns evening meal. We had ours with some homemade cheese and onion bread.

If you have any good slow cooker recipes for the autumn/winter link them below so that I can go and check them out.

Let me know if you try this recipe in the comments below.

Autumn Tag

1. Ok we're talking coffee's - what's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?
I love coffee and Starbucks is my favourite coffee shop. At the moment I am loving Hazelnut Lattes. I cant wait to see what Christmas coffees come out this year. I am not keen on the Pumpkin Spice lattes so haven't tried that one.

2. Accessories - what do you opt for, scarf, boots, gloves?
I love gloves as I get really cold hands easily. But I am looking forward to buying some nice big scarves this Autumn so a trip to Primark is on the cards.

3. Music - what's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?
Since having Sonny I have not had the chance to listen to music or keep up to date with what's hot at the moment. I am looking forward to Ellie Gouldings new album which is due out soon, so that will probably be my Autumn album this year.

4. Perfume - what's your favourite scent for this time of year?
I am currently wearing Down Town Calvin Klein so this will be this years autumnal scent.

5. Candles - what scents will you be burning this season?
I bought a really nice candle from Home Bargains the other day which is Apple Cinnamon so I will be buying another one of these and this will be my Autumn scent as its smells like Christmas.

6. What do you love most about Autumn?
Cosy nights watching TV with a nice hot drink. Long relaxing baths (not sure I will get many of these this year with Sonny here)
The biggest thing I love about Autumn is the lead up to Christmas.
Oh and my birthday.

7. Favourite makeup look?
I don't really wear much makeup but I plan on getting a deep red/berry colour lipstick for when I go out and about. I am not sure yet whether it will suit me.

8. What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?
My First Christmas with Sonny. I have so much planned and I am also planning on doing Vlogmas this year on my YouTube channel. So go check out my channel and subscribe to keep updated. YouTube.com/c/Bexmorts

I would like to tag Claire at http://mumwifebeautifulnice.blogspot.co.uk/

Toys for a baby

1, Play Gym
Every baby should have a play gym from birth. Sonny at first just led there looking at the toys hanging above him but now he is trying to pull them off and put them in his mouth but he still enjoys laying on the mat at 4 months. He has endless of fun on this.

2, Door Bouncer
This is something we have only just started using. He loves the bouncer as soon as we put him in it. He isn't quite bouncing himself yet but I think he just loves standing up and moving around in it. I sometimes help him to bounce or even swing him on it. Look at his happy face in the photo below.

3,Fisherprice Jumperoo
I actually bought this for Sonny for Christmas as it was half price at Boots at the time. Its the Space saver Jumperoo which is ideal for our small house as its starting to get a bit crowded with all his toys.
The Jumperoo makes tunes, he can jump in it and a few more activities around him.
I had to give it to him early as he is growing so fast, so now I need to get him a new Christmas present. Ideas in the comments below please? He will be six months at Christmas.

These are Sonny's three favourite toys at the moment. They make him happy and put a smile on his face without fail. He is currently four months.

What are your babies favourite toys?

Our Weekend 5th September

We got up extra early Saturday morning and rushed around to get ready. We had Sonny's first swimming lesson booked and I was super excited. We managed to get ready on time and get to the pool on time. But when we got to the pool the lesson had been cancelled as the chlorine levels were too high. I was gutted. So we are going to try this again next Saturday.
We grabbed some breakfast from a breakfast van and headed home to get ready for the rest of the day.
We went to my mums as Darren was hanging a couple of doors for her. I left him there with Sonny at 1.30 as I was heading to a Little Pickles Market to see what bargains I could find. I went along with my cousin and her new born baby. I managed to get Sonny a soft sit in car toy for a bargain price of £5. Just need to try and fit it in the washing machine as its second hand.
We then headed home about 6pm and ordered a Chinese takeaway and watched X-Factor which so far this year I am really not enjoying.
Sunday morning Darren went off to play golf for a couple of hours. While he was out and Sonny was sleeping I managed to go through all of my clothes as a lot of them do not fit and I needed to get all the maternity clothing out of my wardrobe.
Darren got home then we popped to his mums for a quick cup of tea and so they could see Sonny. Then we went to my mums for a roast dinner a nice roast lamb. We had a nice apple pie and chocolate pudding for desert. Not much happened that evening just more X-Factor and sorting Sonny out getting him into bed.

ME AND SONNY WATCHING X-FACTOR. (This photo made me laugh so much)

Our Weekend 22nd August

We didn't get up too much again this weekend. I am still going to write about it but it will be a shirt one.

Saturday morning we had a couple of visits to do. We popped to Darren's parents and then to his aunties house. After this we were so hungry so decided to go out for lunch. We went to a nice country pub and sat outside as the weather was so nice and it was so hot. I had a nice glass of white wine and Darren had a cider. We both ordered the same food which was BBQ pulled pork and red onion baguette with chips. It was so yummy. We had never been to this pub before and I would go back as the food was really nice.

Trying to feed Sonny in the sun.

We then went home and watched a film and ordered a nice Indian takeaway. Then it was bath time and bed time.

Sunday we stayed in and chilled as it was pouring with rain and we had thunder storms. This was a definite duvet day and stay in day. I did pop out to Tesco to buy some roast dinner and baking ingredients. When I got home I baked a loaf fruit cake and it turned out amazing so I am going to write a blog post about this recipe, so look out for that one. Obviously we had to try the cake so we had tea and cake in the afternoon.

We watched (boring) sport all day and chilled while I made a roast pork dinner. I am loving my roast dinners on a Sunday at the moment.
Darren and Sonny watching the football <3

That was our weekend.
Next weekend we are have so much more planned and its an extended weekend because we have bank holiday Monday.

Hope you all had a great weekend too.
